Copper Plates from Vijayanagara Kingdom Discovered in Tiruvallur.

A set of 16th-century copper plate inscriptions was found at the Sri Singeeswarar temple in Mappedu village, Tiruvallur district, during a routine locker check.

The plates feature two leaves connected by a ring bearing the seal of the Vijayanagara Kingdom.

The inscriptions date back to 1513 CE, during the reign of King Krishandevaraya.

They are written in Sanskrit and Nandinagari script.
