Harbhajan's Fiery Reply To Fan's "Earlier Generation Played Murali, Warne" Post After 0-3 Defeat.

Just days before the highly anticipated Border-Gavaskar Trophy in Australia, Team India suffered a historic and embarrassing clean sweep in a three-match Test series against New Zealand at home. Rohit Sharma and his team were completely dominated by the Kiwis across all departments, resulting in a well-deserved win for the visitors. This was the first time India experienced a clean sweep in a three-match Test series at home.

Following the loss, Team India came under intense scrutiny, particularly with the poor form of Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli. There were also rising questions about the pitch conditions.

On Day 3 of the third Test in Mumbai, India was chasing a target of 147 when they were dismissed for just 121. Apart from Rishabh Pant, who scored 64, no other batter could make it past the 15-run mark. New Zealand’s spinner Ajaz Patel had a spectacular performance, taking 11 wickets in the match.

A fan criticized the Indian batters, claiming that earlier generations faced legendary spinners like Shane Warne and Muralitharan.

In response, former India spinner Harbhajan Singh quickly fired back, pointing out that the pitch used for the third Test was prepared specifically to aid spinners and was meant for a 2-3 day encounter. Harbhajan remarked, “Earlier generations batsman’s never played on these kinds of tracks. These tracks are prepared for 2/3 day test matches. You don’t need Murli, Warne or Saqi on these pitches to get the teams out. Anyone can get anyone out.”

After the shocking defeat to New Zealand, Rohit Sharma took full responsibility for the team’s debacle. At the post-match press conference, he said, “Something like this will be a very low point of my career, and I take full responsibility for it.”

He added, “Yes, absolutely (bitter pill to swallow). Losing a series, a Test match, is never easy… something that is not easily digestible. We didn’t play our best cricket. New Zealand played better throughout the series. There were a lot of mistakes we did.”
