ToggleAyodhya witnessed a historic moment as more than 2.5 lakh devotees thronged the Ram Temple, marking an unprecedented surge in religious fervour. The temple, which recently underwent a consecration ceremony, has become a hub of spiritual activity, drawing attention nationwide.
In a remarkable display of devotion, the temple received donations amounting to a staggering Rs 3.17 crore on just the first day after the ceremony. This financial support underscores the deep reverence and faith that the temple commands among its followers.
With over 5 lakh people visiting the temple on the first day, managing such a massive crowd posed a significant challenge for the authorities. However, this turnout is a testament to the enduring spiritual and cultural significance of the Ram Temple in the hearts of devotees.
In response to the overwhelming crowd, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath conducted a review meeting to ensure efficient crowd management. The meeting emphasized the need for VIPs to inform authorities in advance of their visits, reflecting the high level of organization and preparedness required.
To accommodate the influx of devotees, the temple administration has extended darshan timings. Devotees can now offer prayers from 6 am to 10 pm, ensuring that everyone gets an opportunity for a spiritual encounter.
Given the high number of visitors, strict security measures were implemented, including the deployment of the Rapid Action Force (RAF) and the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) around the temple premises.
To manage traffic effectively, officials blocked roads leading to Ayodhya from neighbouring districts. The Uttar Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (UPSRTC) and trains heading to Ayodhya were also cancelled as part of these measures.
Ayodhya Commissioner Gaurav Dayal mentioned that while Ayodhya town entry was restricted, emergency vehicles and those carrying perishable items were allowed movement in Faizabad.
Director General (Law and Order) Prashant Kumar highlighted the establishment of an efficient queuing system for devotees. Principal Secretary, Home, Sanjay Prasad, noted that darshan was proceeding smoothly, with a public facilitation centre and separate exit routes in place.
Chief Minister Adityanath stressed the importance of orderly queues and special consideration for the elderly, children, and women. He directed officials to ensure dignified behaviour from security personnel and play Ram Bhajans at a low volume along major roads.
The Chief Minister also instructed officials to provide drinking water, wheelchairs, bonfires, and jute mats along pathways considering the cold weather. He emphasized the need for proper transportation facilities post-darshan and worship.
With Republic Day approaching, Adityanath directed officials to take strict action against anyone trying to disrupt the peace. He stressed the importance of respecting religious sentiments and maintaining a zero-tolerance policy towards hate-mongering.
The Ram Temple in Ayodhya has not only become a site of immense religious significance but also a symbol of unity and harmony. The state governments efforts in managing such a large-scale event are commendable, showcasing a blend of spiritual devotion and administrative efficiency.
