Cristiano Ronaldo, a five-time Ballon d’Or winner and global football icon, was recently honored with the Platinum Quinas award at the Quinas De Ouro gala hosted by the Portuguese Football Federation (FPF). This prestigious accolade recognizes Cristiano Ronaldo’s unparalleled contributions to Portugal’s national team, where he has scored a record-breaking 133 goals in 213 international appearances. His achievements include leading Portugal to victory at the UEFA Euro 2016 and the UEFA Nations League title in 2019.
During the award ceremony, Portugal’s Prime Minister Luís Montenegro and FPF President Fernando Gomes were present, underscoring the significance of Cristiano Ronaldo’s contributions to the country. Reflecting on his career, Ronaldo expressed gratitude for the journey, recalling his debut at 18 and his ambition to surpass each milestone, from 50 to 100 to over 200 international caps.
“It’s an honor to receive this award. I view it as a new beginning,” said Cristiano Ronaldo. “Starting at 18, my goal was to make my first cap. Now, with over 200 appearances, I’m filled with immense pride and motivation to keep going.”
Cristiano Ronaldo also praised the FPF and its leadership, calling Fernando Gomes the “best president” the federation has had and commending Portugal’s infrastructure, coaches, and rising football talent.
