Following his departure from Lucknow Super Giants, India’s star wicketkeeper-batsman KL Rahul is now evaluating his options for a fresh start in the IPL. Though a return to Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) has sparked speculation among fans and analysts, Rahul’s latest remarks indicate that he’s also considering Gujarat Titans and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) due to their supportive atmospheres.
In an interview with Star Sports, Rahul shared insights on his choice to leave LSG, subtly hinting at his preference for a team culture where players feel more at ease and able to perform at their peak. “I wanted to find a team where I could play with freedom, with a lighter team atmosphere. Teams like Gujarat and CSK stand out to me because they handle wins and losses with calmness and balance, which is something I find essential,” Rahul explained.
He also highlighted the positive team culture at Mumbai Indians under Rohit Sharma, pointing out the stability and unity that successful franchises foster. “I’ve seen how Mumbai operates with Rohit’s leadership; they play as a unit with a fierce spirit and excellent preparation. That kind of atmosphere helps players feel like family, and it’s a model other teams can benefit from.”
Rahul’s comments have fueled anticipation about where he might land, with fans eagerly awaiting the upcoming auction to see which team will win his signature.
